Thousands of residents in the southern United States have been heeding evacuation orders and fleeing low-lying areas to escape the impact of approaching Tropical Storm Barry, which is heading for the Gulf Coast. It's expected to strengthen into a hurricane and slam into much of Louisiana, including the city of New Orleans.
