Ningbo and Zhengzhou are the latest cities in China to see their GDP surpass 1 trillion yuan (about 145.3 billion U.S. dollars). By the end of 2018, they brought the total members of the "1 trillion yuan club" to 16.  A major port city, Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang Province said its GDP reached 1.07 trillion yuan in 2018, with the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port handling the world’s largest volume of cargo for 10 years in a row. Zhengzhou in Central China's Henan Province reported a GDP of 1.01 trillion yuan, growing by just over eight percent from 2017. Other cities already in the club include Shanghai, the first to break the threshold in 2006, and Beijing and Guangzhou.
