In men's 4x100m relay, Jiang Jiehua/Jiang Hengnan/Wang Yu from Tsinghua University and Xuan Dajun from Sun Yat-sen University combined for the second clocking at 39.01.

Li Yi, the coach of the group, said "We're coming for the champion because we're qualified for this. But we arrived too late; the students need to overcome the jet leg and many other difficulties. They just need more time to get fit. This is a lesson we should learn from."

Meanwhile, in the men's half-marathon race, a dramatic scene is delivered as the Chinese runner Duo Bujie finished the third but was believed to take the water and cap from the team staff, which was judged as violation by the referee. Therefore the combined team score was disqualified.

The Chinese team official handed out the appeal to the jury to ask to maintain the result because there was only one warning during the racing time and Duo only got one yellow card.

But the appeal is rejected as the jury replied that based on the video evidence and the report of the referee, they do not see a reason to overturn the referee's decision.

The Chinese athletic team finished all the games by claiming one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. The Chinese delegation sits the fourth in the medal standings with 21-13-8.

Japan, Russia and the United States take the top three in the standings.

The closing ceremony of the Universiade will take place on Sunday night.
