Three trapped endangered Nubian Ibex rescued in Israel

Three Nubian Ibexes, including two adults and one baby, were found trapped in an ephemeral pond within a steep canyon in southern Israel's Negev desert, near Moshav Paran. /VCG Photo

Israeli Nature and Parks Authority in collaboration with the Arava rescue unit helped them out. /VCG Photo

After the two adults were shot with tranquilizers, rescue members lifted them out by ropes and stretchers. /VCG Photo

Considered as endangered, the Nubian Ibex is now listed as a vulnerable species on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) red list, with around 2,500 adults. /VCG Photo
