The 2019 China University AI Innovation Competition was held in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province. Themed "AI Innovation for a Better Future," the three-day competition attracted over 110 Chinese colleges and universities. A total of 39 projects out of 550 participating entries took first and other special prizes. China has set a target of becoming a major center for AI innovation and world leader in AI technology and applications by 2030, according to a report from the Ministry of Education.
