At 37 years old, about 120 in human years, Xinxing is the oldest living giant panda in the world. Xinxing was rescued from the wild in Baoxing County and sent to Chongqing Zoo in 1983.
Xinxing is an "international" star. During the 1988 winter Olympic Games, Xinxing — then known as "QiongQiong" — lived in Calgary, Alberta Canada and received 1.25 million visitors in 210 days.
In 2002, Xinxing gave birth to twins at the age of 20, setting a new record for the oldest giant panda to give birth. As of 2016, there are 114 descendants of Xinxing: 10 children, 42 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren.
