Yangtze River and Hanjiang River color smash in central China

The Yangtze and Hanjiang Rivers were the main protagonists in a natural phenomenon on July 15 in Wuhan City of Hubei Province, central China. The two rivers clashed, creating a clear boundary along their confluence with the distinct yellow and green.

This phenomenon is caused by the difference in sand concentration. The high sand content makes the water a muddy yellow color. Comparing to the Yangtze, Hanjiang's water is relatively clear, thus presenting a sharp contact.

The water level of the Yangtze River has risen recently with a large concentration of sand, leading to this phenomenon.
