Chinese scientists have recently identified a new species of flying squirrel genus in the Mount Gaoligong National Nature Reserve in Yunnan Province. Researchers initially thought the specimen belonged to the critically endangered Namdapha flying squirrel, listed as one of the top 25 "most wanted" species in the world by Global Wildlife Conservation.
