As one of the most popular teams in the NFL, the Green Bay Packers are about to start their 100th season on August 11. The team has announced various celebrations this week including free cakes, snacks, free access to the stadium and, most importantly, they will give fans Lambeau Field seed packets as souvenirs.

"Fans, community members and visitors can help the Packers celebrate with a free birthday bash in the Lambeau Field Atrium from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 11. Free birthday cupcakes, provided by Festival Foods, will be available for fans throughout the day, as well as public screenings of the first episode of the Legacy documentary, which chronicles the first decade of the team’s history," read a Packers official statement.

The event will also feature a variety of giveaways and prizes, including a special commemorative giveaway to honor 100 Seasons of the Packers: Lambeau Field seed packets containing the same seed that grows into grass at Lambeau Field.

The team started to play on the Lambeau Field from 1957 and it has already become the field the Packers have used the longest. They won in total nine championships there including five NFL ones (1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967, pre-1970 AFL–NFL merger), two AFL–NFL Super Bowls (1966, 1967) and two Super Bowls (1996, 2010). The stadium holds cherrished memories for the team's fans and soon they will be able to get something other than jerseys and hats: Lambeau Field seeds for their own back yard.

The first 5,000 fans to arrive at the stadium on August 11 will receive the seed packets for free. Moreover, there's a 1/50 chance for a fan to receive a packet that has the signature of a team member including Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, head coach Matt LaFleur, general manager Brian Gutekunst or Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy.

As for those who cannot arrive early or on time, they can buy these seed packets at the Packers Pro Shop, in-store or online, for five U.S. dollars and the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.
