Lawmakers in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) held a press conference Monday and condemned Sunday's violent acts at the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR.
The violent acts perpetrated at the Liaison Office and the smearing of the Chinese national emblem seriously disrupted the social order and violated the public's interests, and also challenged the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, said Starry Lee Wai-king, a legislator and chairwoman of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong.
They called for a renunciation of violence to restore rationality and peace.
