Tibet is always full of incredible scenery. In early March when most of the plateau is still tinged with a wintry chill, Nyingchi Prefecture, in southwestern China's Tibet Autonomous Region is flooded with pink blossoms.
The flower's common name is smoothpit peach or Tibetan peach, a wild species endemic to Tibet. On the magical land, most of the trees are over a century old.
About CGTN Nature: Southeastern Tibet Series
In the Southeastern Tibet Series, we focus on the magnificent southeastern Tibet. Unlike the common Tibet we know, the southeastern area has glaciers, lakes, snow mountains, meadows, forests and wetlands. The water vapor and heat from the Indian Ocean pass through canyons until they reach the inner part of Tibet, making the southeastern area a place of warmth and greenery. Tibetan rhesus macaque, black-necked cranes together with other incredible animals and plants are living harmoniously there.
