The Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) said Tuesday it strongly dissatisfied with U.S. remarks on issues related to Hong Kong and urged the U.S. side to stop sending wrong signals about violent acts.

The commissioner's office said remarks by a U.S. State Department spokesman on Hong Kong were groundless accusations.

The commissioner's office added that recent violent acts in Hong Kong challenged the bottom line of "One Country, Two Systems" and would never be tolerated.

"We expressed strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to wrong remarks by the U.S. side," said commissioner's office, urging the U.S. to immediately stop interfering in China's internal affairs and respect China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"It has nothing to do with the freedom of speech and assembly. It's an extreme violent act which breaks the law and threatens the 'One Country, Two Systems'," said spokesperson Hua Chunying at the foreign ministry's regular briefing.

"We can see that U.S. officials are even behind such incidents... So can the officials tell the world what role did they play and what are their aims?” Hua asked.

She stressed again that Hong Kong affairs are China's internal affairs and warned the U.S. to take back their black hands from Hong Kong as early as possible.
