Singapore seizes pangolin scales, ivory worth over $48 million

Authorities in Singapore seized 11.9 tonnes of pangolin scales and 8.8 tonnes of elephant ivory from a container being shipped to Vietnam. Authorities estimated the tusks from nearly 300 African elephants are worth 12.9 million U.S. dollars. They said the pangolin scales belonging to around 2,000 endangered mammals are worth 35.7 million U.S. dollars.
