Beijing has issued a high temperature warning. Tuesday marked the start of the hottest period of summer in the Chinese lunar calendar. According to the National Meteorological Observatory, temperatures in more than 16 provinces and cities across the country reached 35 degrees Celsius Tuesday and Wednesday.
