Which animal has a greater biting force, the hyena or the crocodile? As well-known scavengers of Africa, hyenas have exceptionally powerful jaws, whose bite force is measured at 1,100 pounds per square inch (psi). But crocs don't use their powerful bite to kill, rather for a death grip. Once a crocodile bites a wildebeest, it will drag it under water to drown it before it starts eating.
