FIFA's Bureau of the Council on Thursday confirmed that the 2019 Club World Cup will take place between December 11 and 21 in Qatar.
Like usual, seven clubs will attend the tournament and play in total eight games. The draw will happen at the FIFA headquarter in Zurich on September 16 to determine the pairings of the second round and the semifinals.
So far three contenders have been confirmed: CF Monterrey from the Liga MX (Mexico) that won the Concacaf Champions League title, Hienghène Sport from the New Caledonia Super Ligue that won the OFC Champions League title and Liverpool from Premier League (England) that won the UEFA Champions League title.

Participating teams from CAF, AFC and CONMEBOL will be determined in the coming months. As for which team will represent the host Qatar, it will depend on who wins the AFC Champions League title.
If a Qatari club win it, they will qualify directly for the second round of the Club World Cup and the runner-up club of the AFC Champions League will meet Hienghène Sport in the opening game.
If the AFC Champions League title is won by non-Qatari team, then Al Sadd SC that won the championship of the Qatar Stars League will play against Hienghène Sport on December 11.
Previously FIFA already announced that the Club World Cup will expand to 24 teams from 2021 and the two editions before that will both be held by Qatar.
