According to the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the first half of 2019 showed steady progress in boosting 5G commercial use. Four major telecom operators in China were issued 5G licenses. This allows users to activate 5G mobile services without changing numbers. China is set to become the world's largest 5G market, with over 400 million users expected by 2025. More than 10 available smartphone models are 5G-compatible in China, and 5G service is expected to cover the country by November.
