At least 14 people have been killed and four are still missing due to a massive landslide that hit a jade mine in Hpakant, Myanmar's northernmost Kachin state, local police said on Sunday.

Heavy rains pounded the area over the last week. The landslide occurred early Sunday, killing mining staff and security personnel, according to an official from the township general administration department.

The search for the missing people is ongoing.
