The Hong Kong SAR government has condemned the violent protest in Yuen Long on Saturday. Several policemen were injured in clashes with the protesters and nearly a dozen people were arrested. On Friday, the protesters attacked an elderly man during their sit-in at Hong Kong International Airport. Local authorities condemned the violence and took measures to protect social security.
