Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah has arrived in Tehran for talks with his Iranian counterpart on the latest tensions in the Gulf. He expects to try to mediate a solution to the dispute between Iran and the UK over impounded tankers. So far, tensions have risen over the past several weeks since the UK seized an Iranian vessel, while Iran detained a British-flagged ship.
