At least three people were killed and two others injured in a coal mine incident in southwest China's Sichuan Province, local authorities said on Monday.

The incident occurred as of 2:00 p.m. local time on Saturday. Local authorities said it is related to gas. 

Those injured are currently receiving treatment at a hospital, local media reported.

An investigation into the case has been launched.
