At least 77 people were injured, and two suffered serious injuries after two buses collided in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at 8:20 a.m. local time in HKSAR's New Territories district's Tai Lam Tunnel.

One bus driver who trapped in a double-decker bus has been freed, local media reported. 

The rescue teams have arrived at the scene, and the injured have been sent to the hospital.

The investigation of the incident is underway.  

Tai Lam Tunnel is an important transport link between HKSAR's western New Territories to Kowloon's urban areas.
