Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met his counterparts from the Philippines, Indonesia, Turkey and Cambodia during his visit to Thailand on Tuesday and vowed to enhance cooperation with all ASEAN countries.
Wang said that China is willing to strengthen the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with the Philippines' ongoing "Build, Build, Build" infrastructure project.
Wang made the remarks during a meeting with his Philippine counterpart Teodoro Locsin in Bangkok. Wang is visiting Thailand from July 30 to August 3.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has met his Philippine counterpart Rodrigo Duterte seven times in the past three years. The two leaders overcame difficulties and pushed forward the development of bilateral ties, said Wang.

He added that China is willing to boost cooperation with the Philippines in areas including infrastructure, telecommunication and gas.
Wang also said China will work with countries from ASEAN to contribute to regional development.
Locsin said the Philippines is willing to work with China to strengthen cooperation.
During his stay, Wang will attend several meetings with both the regional bloc and with different countries.

When meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi, Wang spoke highly of Indonesia's international status, saying that China and Indonesia share broad prospects for cooperation. China is ready to work with Indonesia to push bilateral cooperation to a new level.
Noting the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Wang said that China is willing to enhance cooperation with all the ASEAN countries and work jointly to safeguard regional prosperity and stability.

Wang also met his Turkish counterpart on the same day and the two agreed to enhance cooperation in fighting terrorism.
Wang said China will continue to support Turkey on major issues of common concern and congratulated Turkey on progress in its relationship with ASEAN.
Cavusoglu said he hopes the two sides can enhance cooperation in trade, security, and push bilateral ties to a new level.

Wang hailed the profound traditional friendship China has with Cambodia based on mutual understanding during his meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn on Tuesday.
China and Cambodia have maintained a healthy and stable relationship, Wang said, noting that the two countries have agreed to play a leading role in promoting the building of a Cambodia-China community with a shared future.
China stands ready to maintain high-level exchanges with Cambodia and jointly push forward cooperation under the BRI framework, said Wang.
