52nd ASEAN FMs meeting opens in Thailand

An opening ceremony of the 52nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held in Thailand's Bangkok on Wednesday.

Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said during a speech that ASEAN countries are important in preserving regional peace, stability and prosperity.

He noted that the development of technology would bring opportunities to ASEAN countries. He also called for speeding up the construction of 5G.

The 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Post Ministerial Conferences and Related Meetings are scheduled from July 29 to August 3 in Bangkok.
