Former chief executive of Hong Kong, Tung Chee-hwa, has expressed grief over the recent violence in the region. He says if the situation continues to deteriorate, it will have a negative impact on Hong Kong's social stability and people's livelihood. Tung called on the people of Hong Kong to remain vigilant and not be manipulated by anti-China forces.
