China's economic hub Shanghai will hold the 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in late August.
Open from August 29 to 31, this year's event will focus on a connected intelligent world enabled by the development of AI technologies, according to the Shanghai municipal government.
There will be two summit forums, where governors, representatives from international organizations, leading scientists and entrepreneurs discuss the development of the AI industry to seek high quality development, application and governance.
Ten sub-forums will also be held covering topics such as intelligent algorithm, chip and smart hardware, autonomous driving and AI+5G.
The WAIC will cover an exhibition area of 17,000 square meters for innovative applications related to industrial ecology, AI urban application, autonomous driving and frontier technologies.
Around 300 companies will participate in the exhibition, and 50 percent of the guest speakers are from overseas.
China hosted the WAIC in Shanghai last year for the first time, attracting 200,000 visitors and 72,000 guests from over 40 countries and regions.
Shanghai will establish six demonstration zones for AI innovative application and 60 scenarios for in-depth application of AI by 2020.
