And the Eustoma grandiflorum cultivars are diverse with luxurious and large double flowers. There are also cultivars of Ranunculus asiaticus produced exclusively in Japan.

From July 20 to August 2, seven kinds of cut flowers from Japan's Fukushima Prefecture are on display at the main exhibition stand, where flower producers get a chance to introduce themselves and their creations to the public.

"Each mannequin was made on the basis of the image of the producers invited to breed the flowers. These flowers are in full bloom in the current season. This show is in the summer, so we chose the best flowers of the season," said Koji Matsuzaki, the director-general of Fukushima Prefectural Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Matsuzaki said they wanted to convey that Japanese cut flowers can be presented to China in the freshest condition through this exhibition.

Flowers featured at the main central display will change every two weeks to portray the four seasons of Japanese flowers and cultural customs.

Japan's culture of living abundantly by incorporating nature in daily life is conveyed by specialists in ikebana, bonsai, and flower arrangements featuring seasonal and alluring Japanese flowers and grasses.

Flower designer Chiba Kazuya showcased the Japanese way of arranging flowers. He used the dragon motif to present the relationship between Japan and China with fresh cut flowers from Fukushima.

"I think fresh flowers are full of vitality. This is an attractive point. Some processed industrial products can't show the vitality of flowers."
