China praises Fiji's decision on Taiwan office name change

China highly appreciates Fijian government's decision to ask Taiwan's representative office to Fiji change its name into "Taipei Trade Office in Fiji," said Hua Chunying, spokesperson for the the Chinese Foreign Ministry, during a regular press conference on Thursday.

The Fijian government on Wednesday asked Taiwan to change the name of its representative office. Fiji's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the name change was made after the Fijian government repeatedly asked Taiwan to do so.

Hua said Fijian government made a right decision and China highly appreciates its adherence to the one-China policy.
