A hunger game: gannets battling for food in the North Sea

A group of gannets, Britain's largest seabirds, were caught squabbling for fish in the North Sea.

The bird is famed for its huge appetite and bolting its food. They hunt fish by diving into the sea from a height that could reach 30 meters and pursuing their prey underwater.

The fierce competition forces them to swallow their catch as quickly as possible before it's snapped up by other birds.
