The commissioner's office of China's foreign ministry in Hong Kong slammed foreign forces for interfering in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) affairs and China's internal affairs.

Xie Feng, commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Hong Kong SAR, made the remarks on Friday at the opening ceremony of the 2019 Qianhai Cooperation Forum.

He said the recent violent protests by some extremists have seriously trampled on the rule of law in Hong Kong, and crossed the bottom line of "One Country, Two Systems."

In response to foreign forces' intervention, the comissioner's office has taken actions to condemn the foreign forces, safeguard national sovereignty and Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, and to bring together the might of the Hong Kong society against external intervention, he said.

He said the Office is telling foreign forces to take back their black hands, stop playing with fire, stop applying double standards, stop conniving violent offenders, stop undermining the SAR government's administration, and stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs.

Xie said that the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area carries a new impetus for Hong Kong's sustainable development and "One Country, Two Systems". It provides a new platform for China to cooperate with the world for mutually beneficial results and a community with shared future for mankind. He urged all to grasp the opportunity to jointly building the Greater Bay Area.

He reaffirmed that the central government firmly supports Chief Executive Carrie Lam leading the Hong Kong SAR government in the law-based governance, supports the Hong Kong police in their law enforcement efforts, supports the SAR government's various departments and judicial organs in punishing the violent criminals in accordance with the law, and supports the people who love both our country and Hong Kong in their action to defend the rule of law in the region.
