The United Nations Security Council met behind closed doors in New York on Thursday to discuss the DPRK's latest missile launch. Representatives from the UK, France and Germany called on the DPRK to engage in meaningful talks with the U.S. and said international sanctions must be fully enforced until Pyongyang has dismantled its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is attending the ASEAN meetings in Bangkok, mentioned he was disappointed his DPRK counterpart had cancelled his attendance at the ASEAN meetings. Nuclear envoys from the U.S., South Korea and Japan also held a meeting on the sidelines of the ASEAN forum on Friday, where they were expected to discuss the DPRK's latest missile tests.
