French inventor Franky Zapata successfully crossed the English Channel on a jet-powered hoverboard. Footage showed Zapata arriving at Saint Margaret's Bay near Dover, after making the 34-kilometer stretch between the French and English coasts in around 25 minutes. Zapata wowed crowds during France's Bastille Day celebrations on July 14 by soaring over a military parade in Paris on the device. He rejigged refueling arrangements this time, with a bigger boat and platform.
