148 arrested for illegal gathering, attacking police, weapons possession

Hong Kong police have arrested 148 rioters accused of illegally gathering, attacking police officers and holding offensive weapons. On Monday, over 100 traffic lights were damaged and a number police stations were attacked, while seven police officers were hurt by ball bearings and bricks. The police claim the rioters' behavior has gone far beyond peaceful demonstrations and the Hong Kong SAR Government officials have said restoring harmony is a priority.
