Couples in parts of China can now apply for and receive their digital marriage certificates on Alipay. This is available in Fujian, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, as well as southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Alipay announced on Tuesday. /VCG Photo

A marriage certificate is a valid legal document in China that can be used as a proof of marriage. With this proof, citizens can manage loans, transfer properties, enroll a child in school, manage family inheritance and so on. /VCG Photo
