A Swinhoe's striped squirrel was seen holding a wild cherry fruit on a twig, ready to take a bite in the Laojun Mountain National Geological Park in southwest China's Yunnan Province.

The tree-dwelling squirrel, distinguished by the light yellow stripes on its back, is widespread in central and western China in forests and shrubland at an elevation of 1,000-3,900 meters.

Their diet consists primarily of seeds and plant parts.
