Tibet's 300-year-old tradition, Dangjiren horse racing festival, began on August 8 and will last for seven days in Damxung County, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. The annual event is considered one of the grandest festivals in north Tibet, which is also listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2008. While preserving the traditional racing competitions, new events such as yak race and costume display have also been brought on stage to make the festival a grand ceremony. Today we will take you to the racing competition.
