Migrating birds take a break on an east China sandbank

Birds were flying and foraging near a shoal in east China’s Jiangsu Province on Thursday.

Drought has caused the banks of the Hongze Lake, one of  China's largest freshwater lakes, to recede and create the shoal.

The birds will take a short break there before continuing their migration tour toward the south to find breeding grounds.
