In the northeast of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region lies a vast grassland that covers an area of about 100,000 square kilometers. Hulunbuir Grassland, famous for its lush plants, fertile soil and beautiful scenery, is known as the "Grass Kingdom" among all the grasslands in the world.

The reason for the fertility of Hulunbuir Grassland has a lot to do with the local environment and climate. In the grassland, there are over 3,000 rivers and 500 lakes, providing the pastures with extremely fertile soil for the grass to grow.

Hulunbuir grassland once faced threats by increasing human activities as over-herding destroyed its the grassland's ecological system. To protect this wonderland, the Chinese government adopted the policy called "returning grazing land to grassland," trying to repair and bring back a balanced ecological system.
