Senior Chinese official meets with U.S. secretary of state in New York

Senior Chinese official Yang Jiechi met with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in New York on Tuesday to exchange views on China-U.S. relations.
The two sides decided to have this meeting after consultations. Yang is a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee.
