Young readers are getting a chance to venture into a world of virtual reality at this year's Shanghai Book Fair. One of the highlights is Chen Bochui Book House, which tries to convert reading into a tangible and delightful experience.

Named after one of China's most respected writers for children, Chen Bochui Book House is orienting itself towards the future. At its stall at the Shanghai Book Fair, VR technology is among the attractions to engage young readers.

After coloring animal sketches, children can have them scanned and immediately see the images come to life on a gigantic interactive screen. It is also accompanied by the English pronunciation of the animal names.

Wearing VR goggles, readers can follow voice instructions to merge their visual and auditory senses in an integrated otherworldly realm. Users marvel at the vivid experiences of trudging across a snowfield and driving a sledge pulled by reindeer.

Latest technologies are also on display by many at the Shanghai Book Fair. One of the most popular stalls is that of Himalaya, an audio sharing website with hundreds of millions of users.
