Cameras captured the image of a grey seal with a fishing net tangled around its neck. Another seal was found in a similar situation but with a plastic frisbee. The disturbing images were caught on Thursday in the UK.

Earlier this year, a study by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) in the UK revealed that the number of animals affected by plastic litter is at an all-time high.

Researchers have recently been counting the number of harbor and grey seals basking on the banks of the Thames for an annual census.
