A recent report shows that young students make up the majority of the Hong Kong protesters. According to a survey of 12 rallies, most participants were between the age of 20 and 29, and have completed higher education. Meanwhile, 68 to 80 percent of the protesters are university educated. Why do young students make up the majority of protesters? And why does anti-government sentiment keep emerging among young students? Benjamin Chiao, a professor at the Paris School of Business, weighs in on the issue.
