Three masked protesters condemned what they call the government's waste of public resources in a so-called “People's Press Conference.” They chose to hide their identities because they fear retribution. The retribution they're afraid of maybe comes from the innocent people they almost killed. Ironically, protesters disappeared without a trace before the police arrived in Mong Kok, Hong Kong, on August 18. According to People's Daily, the protesters changed the yellow vests worn by journalists and fled.
