Italian President Sergio Mattarella has told the country's political parties to find a workable new coalition government in the next few days if they want to avoid snap elections. The eurozone's third-largest economy is in political turmoil after Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte resigned this week. The government collapse was triggered by the right-wing League party leader Matteo Salvini who declared the ruling coalition dead, saying he could no longer work with his coalition partner, the anti-establishment Five Star Movement. Mattarella has been meeting delegations from all the parties represented in parliament.
