Japan's defense minister said he's disappointed by the Republic of Korea's (ROK) decision to end an agreement to share intelligence on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The General Security of Military Information Agreement was first signed in November 2016. It was due for automatic renewal on Saturday. But on Thursday, the ROK announced it would not extend the pact, drawing criticism from both Tokyo and Washington. Seoul's move comes amid an intensifying trade dispute between the ROK and Japan. Haesun Kim, chairman of Suntrans Globe Asia, gives her take on the issue.
