Rescue operations are underway after recent rain-triggered floods destroyed roads and trapped residents in southwest China's Sichuan Province. In Leshan City, heavy rain caused mountain torrents in a village Thursday, trapping an old man in the middle of a river channel. Rescuers threw a rope and a life jacket to the old man while two firefighters were lifted in a crane suspended man-basket towards him.
