The seventh batch of the Chinese peacekeeping force recently conducted the largest live-ammunition firing drill, since Mali's security situation has deteriorated. The drill serves to improve peacekeepers' awareness of actual combat. In the scenario, a terrorist crashed the gate with a car bomb and attacked the United Nations (UN) camps. The drill was staged at a range in the east of Gao. The Chinese force dispatched a total of 413 Chinese peacekeepers to Gao in May to continue the United Nations peacekeeping mission which will last for one year.
