In August, the Changbai Mountains enter the rainy season. The humid forest becomes a playground for various small animals. The Bradybaena maacki, a mollusk native to the Changbai region, finds the moist soil satisfying.

With a shell width of around 30 millimeters, this small snail is part of the interesting genus Bradybaena. Species within this genus use a "cupid's arrow" prior to mating. The "arrow" is also called a love dart and is a form of sexual selection for the snails.

Watch this video to see how this tiny creature enjoys its playground in the Changbai Mountains.
