Twenty-two children from southwest China visited AC Milan football club in Italy Thursday. These teenagers, known as "kid reporters", are originally from Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces.

It's part of a national program to enhance mutual understanding and bring different cultures closer together among countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The annual event, launched by China's National Radio and Television Administration, and Chengdu TV station in 2017, is in its third edition.

The children paid a visit to the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, commonly known as San Siro, in the San Siro district of Milan on August 22. As the home of AC Milan and Internazionale, the stadium has a seating capacity of over 80,000, making it the largest in Italy.

The teenagers also visited Milan football club and its museum, and talked with staff members on youth football training and cooperation programs. They also presented gifts featuring giant pandas and traditional Chinese elements, to the club.

Founded in 1899, AC Milan is one of the most successful football clubs in Italy. They have won in total 18 Serie A titles, five Coppa Italia trophies and seven UEFA Champions League titles.
