Over 600 folk artists from 13 countries in Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa, and Europe are now in Hohhot, capital of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to showcase a diverse range of the world's music, arts, and dance.

An energetic war dance by South African performers, the capoeira-inspired Brazilian Frevo, the lively Croatian Kolo and acrobatics-infused street dance by China's youngsters, are just a few of the spectacular performances and collaborations at this annual folk art festival.

"I'm from Hong Kong. I'm part of a performance of dancers from Inner Mongolia, Taiwan, and Macao. Dance is a good way to communicate. Most of all, it's a message of love and peace," said Hai Yang, street dancer from Hong Kong SAR.

"In Vanuatu, you'll find girls wearing flowers because this flower is mainly found in the islands in the Pacific. And the green, this (in her hands), represents the islands and nature," said a Vanuatuan dancer.
